The Northeast states have the highest population of seniors in the country. While most seniors enjoy staying in their homes for retirement, the upkeep of a home can be physically exhausting. After selling a long-time home, many find they are more rested and have more time for doing things they enjoy.
An assisted living community may be the answer to many problems that you or a loved one has. Making the decision to move from a long-time home is probably the hardest part.
Please Note: The Connecticut Statewide Respite Care Program has income and asset restrictions to qualify for this program that gives caregivers respite care. See State of Connecticut Aging Services above.
Pennsylvania assisted living communities are often called personal care homes so don't be confused if you see this term used interchangeably. It is the same as assisted living facility or community. However, there is no licensure for assisted living facilities in Pennsylvania but is for Personal Care Home. Please refer to this government Directory of all licensed personal care homes in Pennsylvania. Good information when researching your communities.
Pennsylvania has had its share of abuses at facilities so be sure to check the background of Assisted Living communities thoroughly as well as all Assisted Living-Northeast States.
