Assisted Living NY has some of the strictest requirements for facilities. There are two models of assisted living for the state according to Empire State Association of Assisted Living.
Assisted Living in New York State is called adult home or adult care facility. You will see the terms used interchangeably. Licensed Assisted living, or Adult Home, the first model, must provide room, all meals and snacks, housekeeping, laundry, long term care, 24-hour supervision, case management services, structured activities and medication and personal care assistance.
ESAAL recommends making several visits at various times of day to each residence you are considering. Be sure to ask to see their licensure papers.

The average Assisted Living Cost for New York State is $3922 for 2011. Range in State: $1905-$8350 according to the Met Life study. The high end of the range is usually for those having memory care.
