If you are lucky enough to be retired in California, you may not wish to leave such a nice climate and area amenities. If you are a parent moving there because your children live and work there, you will not be disappointed.
The Bay Area for people coming from other places may seem very costly; some areas and towns are more so than others. The closer to San Francisco or Silicon Valley, the more expensive the area. However, Santa Clara would be way less costly than Los Altos for instance, and both are located in Silicon Valley, another name for the Bay Area.
The major cities are located from San Jose to Fremont to San Francisco and include Cupertino, Los Gatos, Sunnyvale, Campbell, Santa Clara, Fremont, Milpitas, Mountain View, Los Altos, Redwood City, San Mateo, Oakland, North of San Francisco and more.

Many Bay Area assisted living services include a memory care option--some focus on memory care more than others and some specialize totally in this area.
They say 50% of people over age 85, have some degree of Alzheimer's disease.
